BENEATH THE SUMMER STARLIGHT

I love all of my albums (lie) but out of all of them, this one holds a really special place in my heart. It captured a period in my life that I can never go back to. The summer I recorded this album was really, really special. What made it so special? I honestly couldn't tell you. The memory of it is very vivid though. I love this album so so so much.

This has my longest run of features. 109 DEGREES with Fry, STARFALL with S-NIN, AMOR with Subtle Drop and STARLIGHT ETERNAL with Tricia. This also has my only real song with Subtle Drop. AMOR is, in my opinion, my best song and YES, I am biased because of Olivia. The feature tracks are standouts for sure. I poured my heart into the production of NEVADA. I wanted to capture the feeling of summer coming to an end. It makes me emotional listening to the end of this album lmfao. I'm a huge for sucker for strings if you can't tell (and the piano.)

I was going for a sparkly, summer, starry feeling with the beats. Did I nail it? This might be the only instance where I use as many producers as I did. I was getting kind of burnt out from producing after CAROLYNE IS NOT REAL and MY SHADOW SAYS HELLO. So I started looking for beats and people to work with.

The cover for this album was done by the absolutely amazing Rosey. (@roseyxdraws on ig!) one of my favorite artists to work with, seriously, go check out her art. She is so so talented and she really brought this idea/feeling to life. This cover is again, inspired by Kill Bill: The Rapper, specifically the cover for RAMONA. This was my third and last instance of portraying Carolyne in black and white on a main cover. The alternate cover is me facing the other way! This is technically a deluxe edition but i've decided to just have it be the main and only version of this album.
