If you look at my release dates, you'll notice I had an insane turnaround for my 2nd and 3rd album. Like I said, I was really mad when I made this. I thought CAROLYNE IS NOT REAL sucked when I released it (it does) and I was really frustrated that I didn't/couldn't make something good. My solution was to put out another trash ass album in 4 months lmfao.
I purposely did the first tracks in proper punctation and then the last 8 in all uppercase. Goodnight is supposed to be the "end" of the album. On this track you can hear a tape being forced to play, it breaks, and it continues onto DOES YOUR SHADOW SPEAK TOO? shifting the tone back to what I opened the album with. I think OUT OF TIME, THE END OF ME and LAST LIFE is a solid three track run if you're edgy and miserable (I kind of still am sometimes) I'm particulary proud of the beat switch on the first track and LAST LIFE as a whole. I love those tracks.
The original cover (at the bottom of this page) was done by my friend DeNathan, and the new version (above) was done by Julia Sturaro. I took inspiration from Kill Bill: The Rapper's 2nd project, RESIN, for the style. As of writing this, MY SHADOW SAYS HELLO was my most anticipated/streamed album when it released. I have no idea how I pulled off garnering any hype for this. I'm pretty sure the first track immediately turned away a bunch of people from it lmfao. Contrast was a loose theme on this. I followed the harsh opener with SUMMER LOVE. I can't sleep with You and I, and the whole thing with the 1st and 2nd half of the project. Yes, sometimes I have cool ideas, and yes, sometimes they flop. So it goes.
